What cost is your dream?
What cost is your dream unfulfilled?
In economics, there is what’s called “opportunity cost.”
In its most simplistic form, opportunity cost is the cost of the one thing that you did not choose.
Bruce Lipton’s Biology of Belief is an incredible piece of work. I found it on Youtube a month ago.
Now, I’m not really versed in biology, or science in general, but I couldn’t pull myself away from his video.
He’s rather a fast talker, so he demands full attention. If you can sit through it all (it’s a little over an hour long), the light bulbs going off will seem like fireworks. He spends the first ten minutes setting everything up; follow all that, and you’re golden.
But there’s a part two to this subject, and that’s found in another video by Rob Williams (about one hour, thirteen minutes). He takes what Bruce sets up and ties it all together. Again, a great video.
We all dream of this or that (I’m talking about our waking dreams), and dreams spring from a void in our lives: we don’t currently have something so we imagine what it would be like to have it.
We dream of finding the love of our lives. We dream of more passion in our relationship. We dream of more money.
Having a bad start to the day? Something happen that’s brought you down? Do you need an emotional boost?
Here’s a surefire way to get out of a mental/emotional rut.
Things happen to all of us all the time. On the whole, most of it’s in the neutral column between good and bad. Some things are incredibly great and make us jump for joy, while there are those few things that really tend to pull us down.
If you can’t avoid being pulled down and find your mood, your emotional state, is down in the dumps, pull yourself out as soon as you can. If you don’t, you may find you carry that mood with you for some time. Not only will it affect how your day goes, but it can affect others who you would not intentionally want to involve.
Moods are like viruses: they can be catchy if you’re not on your guard. Have you ever been around someone who was in an awful mood and, though it may or may not have influenced you, you’ve seen other people’s moods change as a result?
