I found this article on my Facebook feed this morning and thought I’d pass it along to you.

“15 Things That Emotionally Strong People Don’t Do,” by Paul Hudson, is a quick look at some of the “habits” we should have to remain strong. And if we don’t have them, they’re easy enough to implement.

Bruce Lipton, Health, Love, Manifestation, Subconscious

From Bruce Lipton’s “What are Your Perceptions Today?”

“…the belief that one has “bad genes” can itself actually create a “bad” protein from a good gene. Also, the “belief” that “I cannot heal myself” can also interfere with our own ability to heal our selves. The problem…we rarely observe our own subconscious behaviors, therefore we almost never understand that we [are] unknowingly engaging in behaviors that are limiting and self-sabotaging to our biology.  Because we are unaware of these behaviors, when we have problems in health and relationships we rarely do we recognize that we were involved with creating them.”

Attitude of Gratitude

A wonderful post (and reminder) from Fluro Zebra.

The Life of a Fluro Zebra

Hello!

Today I will be talking about gratitude. The meaning of gratitude in the dictionary is:

“The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness” ~ Oxford Dictionary 2014.

I think this statement is a perfect definition because the way I see gratitude is to show and feel deeply in your heart, appreciation for things that you have been lucky enough to see, hear, smell, feel, experience, learn and enjoy. Let me tell you a little bit more about what I believe gratitude is, does and means to my life and could mean to yours…

Blue_Bird_by_Nzeman

I like to imagine that there is a little blue bird inside my heart and soul that has different kinds of strengths. The small bird tweets little nothings in my ear, but to me they are big something’s. It always shares its power of optimism against that cheeky pessimism, and…

FriendSpeak

If you had a friend who spoke to you in the same way
that you sometimes speak to yourself,
how long would you allow that person
to be your friend?

I admit that I catch myself in that negative self-talk cycle. “Why did I do that? What the heck is wrong with me?”

What’s worse is when it goes on for minutes and I don’t catch myself.

Eckhart Tolle urges us to be in the “now.” Buddhism calls it being mindful. However you choose to look at where you should be in each moment, where are you exactly?

Are you off in the future anticipating that plan, that great dream of yours?

Are you visiting your past, beating yourself up for having said something unkind to someone?

Or worse. Stuck in the past because someone said something unkind to you?

It has been said that each time you replay some hurtful scene from your past, you are allowing it to happen to you all over again. You are allowing that person to hurt you again…and again…and again.

Every single time you think about it, that’s what is happening.

If someone has done something to you that was hurtful, don’t replay it in your mind. Don’t live through that pain again. Your body doesn’t really like it, and you know your mind doesn’t like it either.

Be kind to yourself today, right now, in this moment.

Because, in this exact moment, there is peacefulness and you are perfect just as you are.

Loss

Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over,
it became a butterfly.
— Anonymous

If you’ve experienced a loss, perhaps the death of a friend/partner, a relationship, or even a pet, remember to celebrate in memory the joy and happiness that was brought to your life from having him or her in it.

We can’t change the cycle of life, but we can change our perspective. Instead of focusing on just that sorrowful ending, look back to the happy days and let those feelings envelop and embrace you.

You’ll know you’ve succeeded when you find yourself smiling.

Infinity

What we call the beginning is often the end.
And to make an end is to make a beginning.
The end is where we start from.
— T.S. Eliot

May your week’s end be the beginning of your next great path.

Have a fun and peaceful weekend everyone.

Choices, Decisions, Expectation, Thoughts

We all have decisions to make. We all have choices.

When it comes to making a decision, deep down, we really know what we are going to choose. But if you are ever in a bind and need some help, this trick works every time.

CoinToss

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin.
It works not because it settles the question for you, but because,
in that brief moment when the coin is in the air, you suddenly
know what you are hoping for.
